Canada? Relatively speaking, that is. Our dollar's really low right now, so exchange rates are good for anyone from the U.S., U.K., Europe, etc. I would've thought we'd be seeing more tourists this year. Maybe it'll pick up after the snow melts.
Other destinations that come to mind:
Bali, Fiji, Guam... it's just expensive and a long haul flight for North Americans to get there. They sound divine from what I've heard however.
Bhutan, a tiny and remote country that is for the most part quite peaceful. It doesn't have a well-developed tourism industry though.
Japan, again. I had a blast visiting about a decade ago, I stayed with my brother and saw Tokyo. It was quite amazing, but indeed, foreign tourists aren't hugely visible.

A decade ago maybe, but now tourists are everywhere in Japan. Japan received about 20 million tourists last year, a huge improvement compared to the year before.
Idk if Japanese people consider it an 'improvement' though, tourists could be very annoying too.
Ethiopia- I guess people just do not know much about it and most people think the country is 99% desert for some odd reason . The tourism sector there is growing though quite fast.
Most people i speak to don't even think about desert, they think 99% of the country doesn't have enough food.
That's another misconception I should have mentioned. It will be long until this one goes though because droughts do hit the country every 5-10 years or so .
Chile and Argentina...
-Seasonal flip;
-Assumption they're very dangerous places like a large chunk of Central America and northern South America;
-Not places that are really in the public consciousness;

100% agree with this.
Chile only get around 4 million tourists per year and Argentina 6 mil.
