It is debatable whether any Americans are "excluded" from the mainstream economy.
The bigger problem is that certain people are unable or unwilling to take advantage of the opportunities that exist. Lack of educational attainment on the part of certain Americans is perhaps the worst problem facing this society.
I take it you've live the life of those you speak of?
No. Multiculturalism is to blame, not racial diversity. Look at Singapore - they have three major ethnic groups (Chinese, Indian, Malay) but the Singapore government enforces uniculturalism and bans the formation of ethnic ghettos. It's a pretty safe country.
Race and culture are not synonymous.
Singapore with it's 4 official languages, separate family laws for Muslims and provision in the constitution to "care for the interests of the racial and religious minorities of Singapore" enforces uniculturalism?

Liberals tend to think that the poor exist because discrimination and systemic inequality keep them from accessing opportunities that would improve their situation. Conservatives are more inclined to think that people are poor because they fail to take advantage of opportunities that are actually available to all. This has long been the controversy.
The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle of the two perspectives.

Absolutely.
I see it largely as a cultural thing I'll go out on a limb I'm quite comfortable interacting with individuals of different cultures and races as long as they are of a similar class level which ranges from(lower middle class to upper middle class), now for the most part I find the upper class, and lower class quite annoying the upper class you often find individuals that are status oriented(which I have little tolerance for) I bow to no-one, and the lower class tend to complain too much and not take much action.
