Love those pictures.

You know there used to exist a mixed Ethiopian-Portuguese community in the Adwa Plateau in 1598 they numbered 3,000 they were descendants of the soldiers that settled in the 1540's and married Amhara women. Queen Mentewab 1706-1773 claimed to have Portuguese ancestry. The Ethiopian Negus for generations employed a militia from that community.

Thanks for sharing. Actualy nowadays we already have direct flights from Brazil to Ethiopia. I remembered that when it was anounced some believed that it would get to a very modest airport, but when they saw the pictures of Adis Adeba's Airport they got very surprised!!

Thanks!

Very interesting too. Ethiopia and Portugal have had a long history together and I do recall them being one of our allies with our war against the Ottoman empire.

That's correct, Ethiopian Airlines flies 3 times a week to São Paulo, sometimes connecting in West Africa too on the way.

Addis Ababa airport is also getting expanded to accommodate the number of passengers it should be receiving in the near future.
