And form nations based on states perhaps instead of being united?
I keep coming across the same complains that:
the US is corrupt,
run by oligarchs,
people are homeless and starving and the government doesn't care,
the government's focus is in another part of the world
the government waste too much money on wars
the government limits freedoms and puts Americans under surveillance.
the government doesn't care about the people
crime and other social problems are increasing and the government does nothing
And there a lot more and these problems have been stated even before Trump and these look like serious problems too.
If that's so, why don't Americans just end the United States and form different countries? From what I can understand, smaller nations are easier to govern.
Britain is a very good example of this. When the British Empire was still around, vast swaths of the empire were poor and under developed, sometimes including the homeland, not to mention British soldiers and sometimes citizens were killed by the locals. But when the British empire dismantled and all that was left was the homeland, it prospered and today is one of the richest countries in the world.
And I think Canada and Australia are doing fine because they have smaller populations despite their size.
So if the US breaks down into smaller nation states, each with small populations, maybe these problems can easily be addressed?

If every stand-up TV comic can rattle off a litany if things wrong with America, how come only one of them has done so and gotten elected to the presidency? And in three years has not corrected a single one of the laughable defects that are now baked into the American political philosophy..
What we have learned in three years, is that it doesn't matter who is elected, things will turn out the same, even if a clown is elected. No deviant harm has yet been done, nor any sign that it will be'
America is a kind of weird juggernaut that just keeps rolling down a hill, and all the forest animals keep scampering out of the way. Until it runs smack into the feed store in downtown Pagosa Springs..

Most Americans don’t really care much about any of these issues that you listed. They may be the thoughts of a small number of people who are on the fringes of society.
Americans mainly care about how much money they make and get to spend at the end of the day. Take a look at U.S. the stock market. It’s about to hit a new record high in 3, 2, 1....
That's because most Americans believe that America is the greatest country in the world and functions perfectly as one single country, unlike the former USSR.
The U.S. was constructed so that it would be virtually impossible to split it up into 4-5-6 or more parts, but I'm all for splitting it up, at least into 4 parts.
Mind you, California is roughly the same size as Germany, and Texas is much larger than France.
But perhaps Putin could help us split it up. After all, we cheered to no end when the USSR was split up and it would be hypocritical not to split it up. Putin might say: You need help doing it? I can send you lots of weapons, free of charge!

Yes, but in this case, none of them will be a superpower and Russia or China may fill the gap left by USA.
