Aside from New York City, from an international perspective(or an American who has spent time abroad), which city in the USA is viewed as the most desirable in your country? I've always been curious, maybe people in your country don't ever talk about American cities which is perfectly fine, but if you do, which one is constantly mentioned in conversation?

In Brazil, Miami is number 1, so I voted for her.
But personally my favorite city in USA is Chicago, because of its architecture.

I voted for LA. But many Canadians I know would probably choose SFC/Bay area over LA, I know several people that moved to the bay for IT jobs.

I know Canadians that travel to Florida often and some own property there but not really in the Miami area so I didn't vote for that city.

No such place exists. Everyone knows or should know that New York City is the center of the Universe! Maybe in a far second place would be.......nope, there just isn't any place approaching Desirable.

Perhaps Easier, Cheaper, less jet lag to get to from Asia, Australia, etc would be west coast cities but truly Desirable??? Nope.

I guess California and Texas in general were/are quite popular? Like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas etc. I've heard that there are lots of Taiwanese-Americans living there. Seattle as well.

Depends on who you ask. I guess Los Angeles, San Francisco and Miami are all relatively well known because of various movies and tv shows. That said, this knowledge is pretty limited.

It's not like Chicago and Washington are never heard of, but they aren't promoted as aggressively in said movies and tv shows.

Thank you for the responses, interesting that LA is coming up constantly; seems as if LA is respected as the USA's number two city more so outside the US than within the US.

3. San Francisco
4. Los Angeles
5. Las Vegas
