Paris has some great squares and is a very beautiful city.

In terms of London there are so many squares and especially garden squares, so this is my last pic, and is one of London's newer Squares Paternoster Square, which is home to the London Stock Exchange.

I like the Senate Square in Helsinki, as it has been trough so much and is still a popular gathering place:

In the centre is the statue of Czar Alexander II, the only of two remaining statues of him standing. The other one is in Sofia.

Red Square is jaw dropping. It's imposing and beautiful at the same time. The only thing that mars it is the Lenin mausoleum.

Confederation Square in Canada's capital, Ottawa

The tower to the right in the distance is part of the federal parliament. The monument in the middle is Canada's main war memorial. The large castle in the second photo is the Château Laurier hotel.

IMO Canada's prettiest square is Place Jacques-Cartier in the old part of Montreal.

It's hard to find good photos of it.

One way to think of London is as a single gigantic public space with a city on top of it.

My choice, Greenwich, including the Observatory, Park and Naval College:

Two triple-lane streets and a junction. No thanks. F**k cars.

Yeah, I know. There are plans to make it less car-centric.

George Square in Glasgow was recently refurbished and I think Manchester is currently in the process of redeveloping the St Peter's Square area and the area around Exhange Square.
