Very true about the orchestra............it has always been one of the best and best known in the world. Cleveland's Art Gallery is also excellent. The city definitely punches way above it's weight in the arts.
In general in Montreal, I don't think that Cleveland is so well-known beyond the stereotypes, and that it's in Ohio, etc. On the other hand, in the Orthodox Jewish community in Montreal in which I live, I know (or at least know of) quite a few people who are either originally from Cleveland or who have children or other relatives in Cleveland (either at present or formerly). Also, a good friend of mine in Montreal who is Jewish but non-Orthodox used to have some distant relatives in Cleveland, and I've known 1-2 other non-Orthodox Jews in Montreal coming from Cleveland originally.
I meant to add here that it's because both Montreal and Cleveland have had large Jewish, including Orthodox Jewish communities.

I meant to add here that Detroit is known internationally not only for carmaking but for its sheer urban decline, and Pittsburgh is known internationally not only for steelmaking but also for Heinz ketchup.
So I travel so work a lot and recently spent a week in Vancouver, BC and Seattle (I know still US, but still very far away)
When wearing Cleveland t-shirts out a couple nights, I was pleasantly surprised to have multiple people come up to me, saying they were happy to see Cleveland win the NBA title. Especially in Canada, it was neat to hear people give a nod to Cleveland, especially with the positive vibes.
From Ontario and I have to admit I do not know much. I know it's a smaller city in the U.S in Ohio... honestly nothing else. Smaller U.S cities are never mentioned in Ontario, when we talk about the U.S it's always NYC, L.A, Miami or Vegas it's never a place like Cleveland ect. Unless you have family living there there really isn't any reason to visit.
