Not exactly a trivial difference.

But very minor compared to historical differences.

New York/Connecticut/Maryland type states used to have 4:1 income gap with Mississippi. Now it's less than 2:1. Mississippi basically has the median income of Germany.

The exact opposite occurred, but I suspect you knew that.

The wealthier states didn't get poorer, the poorer states got wealthier.

Just because the average household in Mississippi is larger than that of Germany.
If you look at per capita income you will see people in Mississippi are a lot less rich than people in Germany.

That's not how you compare wealth.

How would you compare wealth, then?

None of this is true.

Average household size in Mississippi is only slightly higher than in Germany. 2.5 compared to 2.2. Hardly a major difference. And that doesn't even make any sense. Children don't earn income, so it isn't like having more children artificially makes a household richer.

And per capita income is fairly similar.

Some teenagers do and most in their 20's that live with their parents for sure do.

Mississippi's per capita income is just over $20k, Germany's is well over $25k.

Also Germany is not equal, east Germany (ex communist country) is a lot poorer than west Germany.
