i thought the same as you. it's still an interesting point of view i guess. most of the time i think i don't really go along with the other French, well mostly, i've always been interested in other people culture, that's maybe why i've always wanted to feel close to them -- belong somewhere, be a part of a group or something. at home i have Romanian neighbors and i felt closer to them than my own sister for example.

Well when I go to public and do some people watching people are staying in their own "boundary" I think that boundary is usually racially, religious, or class, you know poor, middle class, or wealthy. I don't think I ever see a rich Asian guy with a poor black Muslim wife. Maybe 2 middle class, non religious, bi racial couple in NYC happens sometimes, but usually there will only be one difference (religiously, racially, or by class), if any. I know their are expections but usually here in America people stick with "their own". Well that's what I notice anyways.
