I have a strong regional identity too, but primarily I identify with my nationality. I've lived away from my hometown for nearly two decades and won't be moving back (too tough to make a living there). When I retire I won't be going back either... and I don't feel strong ties to the area where I live now. I've lived the first two decades of my life on the east coast of Canada, and the next two decades in central Canada. I could move anywhere when I retire. It's a big world, and a big country. Still a lot I'd love to see.
But if I were in a strange land, and someone asked me what my background was, I'd answer "Canadian" without hesitation. Some people might identify with their home region first, or with their home city, rather than their nationality, but I don't.
1. French speaking Canada. Primarily concentrated in the province of Quebec but also exists in the rest of the country.
2. Province of Quebec itself
3. Canada
4. My city
5. French speaking world (Francophonie)
6. Western world in general
7. North America
That's interesting, especially #5 and #6. It didn't even occur to me to think in terms of "Anglosphere" or "first world" or "western world" or "British Commonwealth", etc.
I'd maybe pick:
1. Country
2. Region of birth/childhood
3. English-speaking world, in a broad sense
Distantly: Home town
I suppose I could claim some others, but don't feel a strong identity connection to other labels.

I know borders are important (sometimes extremely important) in the modern world but part of me still sees them as arbitrary, artificial lines.
What's most important to me are human groupings, based on culture, way of life, common spaces, shared history, and other affinities.
1. Ethnicity/Culture (Russian/East Slavic)
2. City/metro area (Seattle area)
3. State (Washington)
4. Region (Pacific Northwest)
5. Country (United States of America)
6. Continent (North America)
7. Cultures similar to my country (Anglo Sphere)
