Updates above:
- My opinion has changed a little bit on the Dutch Randstad region.
-Add Mexico City to my favorites list. Just went not too long ago. Wonderful place!
- Add Louisville, KY to my least favorites list. I think one has to actually be from the city, or a more run-down rust belt city, to appreciate it.
I'm going back in 2 months, can't wait! Taking my sister and her boyfriend this time, they are avid cyclists. Going to stay in Roma and Centro Histórico. I love it, one of my fave places to visit.
I'm hoping they still close Paseo de la Reforma on Sunday for bike riding...
Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Tucson and Granada over Tokyo, Amsterdam and Hong Kong
Cost of living is a factor for me. Climate as well. Kathmandu is like no other city, dirt cheap to travel in, and a spring like climate. Kuala Lumpur is like a low cost Hong Kong. Tucson has a great desert climate and I loved the vibe there. Granada is cheap and tropical.
Top 10:
01. Miami/Sydney/Melbourne (three-way tie, none having an edge on the others yet)
02. Barcelona
03. Tel-Aviv
04. Busan
05. Brisbane
06. Vancouver
07. Seoul
08. London
09. Tokyo
10. Hong Kong
Basically the same list with the same cities and in the exact same order as last time. This is nice, I've finally reached permanence with my top ten list. Quite content with all of my choices too. Satisfied. My list of top ten could be dissected into two subgroups, the metropolises from #1 to #6 are medium sized global metropolises. The metropolises from #7 to #10 are absolutely large metropolises. So basically while they may end up being #7, #8, #9, and #10 on my overall list, Seoul followed by London, followed by Tokyo, and then followed by Hong Kong are my four favorite large metropolises in the world. I hope it always remains that way.

As I visit more cities I'm sure my list will change. Quite hard to beat the top 5 though. Yes, I know this post is old.
