I thought it would be interesting to compare the various continents with one another based on how many ultra-prominent peaks they each have. An ultra-prominent peak is defined as a peak with at least 1500 meters of prominence.

Asia: 637
North America: 355
South America: 209
Europe: 119
Africa: 84
Oceania: 69
Antarctica: 41

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra-prominent_peak

The problem with this, is that the continents differ drastically in size. I was curious how they would compare in terms of their "density" of ultra-prominent peaks. So I took the number of ultras of each continent and divided by the area of each continent in million sq km.

Here are the results I obtained:

North America: 14.6
Asia: 14.3
South America: 11.7
Europe: 11.5
Oceania: 8.1
Antarctica: 2.9
Africa: 2.8

The units of these numbers are #ultras/million sq km.

I think this is an interesting way to compare how mountainous each of the continents are. Any comments?
