Well sorta.....Are North and South America an Island??? How about Eurasia??? an Island. We have to draw the line somewhere, Australia is not a huge continent but it is a continent and not an island.
Most people who come from large countries and contents would find Great Britain a very small island, albeit one with good transport links to Continental Europe and the world.
American Author Bill Bryson's book 'Notes from a Small Island' sums this up wonderfully and it should be noted that the state of Texas alone is almost 3 times larger than the entire United Kingdom.
I agree. I come from a large country, and Great Britain seems very small. You can fit over FOUR Great Britain's into my province alone, and we're not even the biggest province.
Oops.....I see Ireland too....I don't think it's part of Great Britain....not sure
