I was talking to a few Romanians and people from other EU states who say the job market in Europe is depressed and making a living off of welfare is near impossible. Do others have similar experiences?

OK, this time from Europe to the USA ...
In the late 50's and early 60's, the *Space Programme* was really strong in the USA.
I just graduated from the UNI and was recruited straight out of school to work for NASA.
I accepted, stayed and never was sorry I did it. This was 1961.

Fast forward to today, I am not sure what the USA actually offers as an incentive in the job market to import talent from Europe.

Somewhere I do not understand the initial message where it is stated that living off welfare in Romania is nearly impossible. Show me a country where it is, except for maybe the Netherlands, where if you know the rules, you can play the game !
Is the OP trying to get to the USA and then try to live off Welfare ?
Why do they NOT have a job ?

Truthfully, I really doubt if the USA is looking for that kind of people !
I understand the *desire* to better oneself by getting into a country where they may be able to get a better life, but to also express that they could not live off welfare is not a good thing to proclaim !

So where is this thread going ?

Welfare isn't meant to provide u a living, it's meant to keep heat on and food in ur stomach when ur low paying job doesn't. And also meant to prevent uprising.

US is good for business minded people because it's one of the few western countries with a growing population, pursuit of happiness as a right and several states to choose from.

Note: I meant with massive unemployment some Europeans need welfare to pay their bills and can't. In the us the welfare is less but the job market offers more opportunities (at least in the views of the Romanians).

Hardly much of a basis for starting a thread, so you'll probably need to do some work to achieve your goal.

I'm working overtime to get this thread the most attention possible. Success is inevitable.
