I also expected the number of millionaires in Paris were declining, because many people are leaving.

According to this list Taiwan has 33, and Australia has 27, that's pretty much the same.

Sweden has 26, Norway has 13, Finland and Denmark both have 6, Iceland has 1, that's 52 in total, and the population of all five combined is about 25 million. So yes, they easily win.

Taiwan has lots of rich people (and far more ****ed-up people, but oh well), but it's hardly special as other countries have lots of rich people as well.
I was referring to the list on the first post which listed Taipei, with 23 billionaires. Comparing cities to countries are a bit of a stretch even if the population are similar

Which is why I was comparing countries to countries? Nordic countries have cities that have 2 million residents top, Taipei has like 7, so it wouldn't be fair to compare them. Australia isn't centralised, so their wealth would be more spread out, so it wouldn't be a fair comparison either. So I compared countries to countries, and the conclusion is that Taiwan has merely an above average amount of billionaires, and the Nordic countries easily blow us off the water.

Most Chinese celebrities reside in Beijing, because it is the cultural center. Those celebrities may not be famous internationally, but they are incredibly rich. Many of them ask for 10 million dollars just to do a TV show.

Also real estate price in Beijing is crazy, 50% higher than that of Tokyo. Basically you need 1 million US dollars to buy a medium-sized apartment, and not in the central area.
