The US would think that Haiti lost its mind by trying to start a conflict with another country when they haven't even rebuilt after an earthquake that happened a while ago.

"Freedom, democracy" may be truth to you, but it's never 100% truth to me. See what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, even Russia. Also no political system is universally good for all countries at all time.
True. If the population are mindless serfs like in China and Russia, democracy won't work. And quite frankly, your totalitarian system doesn't encourage it either. Therefore I don't see how these peasant peoples can embrace democracy.

It would still be stupid. Haiti, unlike North Korea, doesn't have the capabilities to threaten other nations in the same way. A purely defensive system would be a complete waste of time and money. Now, if China got involved in the war and also attacked Haiti, the US may act differently. Seeing as Haiti sounds to be the aggressor, the USA may approve and would likely get involved as well on the same side as China.
