Based on real purchasing power, China's economy is much bigger than the entire EU.
Does not make any sense for Paris, a capital of a weak economy in EU, ranks higher than capital of China

What about the median household income per city or country after tax? Or the median disposable income available after paying for housing, food, transportation, clothing etc.(the necessities).
Nominal GDP is even a bigger joke. You pay 3 dollars for a lousy subway ride in New York,
but you pay 0.5 dollars for a subway ride in China, with much better experience
Estimated gdp PPP of Beijing 2014 : 506.1 billions
Estimated gdp PPP of Shangai 2014 : 594 billions
Estimated gdp PPP of Paris 2014 : 822 billions
Difference (Shangai + Beijing) - Paris = 278 billions
Difference Paris - Shangai = 228 billions
Technically, as the date of 2014, considering purchase price parity measure, the difference between Paris and Shangai is comparable to (Beij+Shang) and Paris. It's not the case today probably but it still gives an idea.
BTW, GDP ppp of EU is 90% of China (wou EU, such a small economic area...) , while its population is...a little bit more than one third of China. Think about it...
It gives an idea about the level of life in EU and London and Paris are the two biggest cities by far. So they aren't nothing lol.
Why a city that produces the gdp of Netherland couldn't be considered as a so-called global city?
You will have to explain that to me

Because if Beijing was concentrating everything that on the scale of Paris in France:
Its gdp would be 23KB$/3.33 = 6900 billions $ , not 500/600 billions ( = roughly 1/3 of China's gdp ppp).
Its population would be 19% of China = 247 million inhabitants
Is it hard to understand that France is centralized so Paris appears in these rankings? Did you remark that no German cities appear while Germany is the biggest economy in Europe, due to the fact that Germany is not centralized at all?
