I visited years ago Florida = Sun,Golf, beaches,Disney, and life of night .-

Spain is Florida + Great Gastronomy+4000 Castles+
Thousands of Palaces and Cathedrals+famous Festivals+Extraordinary Museums +Dozens cities World Heritage,According to UNESCO+Cosmopolitan People+More elegant shopping +Deserts ,Sky Stations ,beaches, mountains and near by visitable in a only one Day.-,+and climate radically different ,in few hours of trip and change of the constructions in less of 100 Km+And legendary itineraries as of Camino of Santiago with hundreds of Thousands on travelers on foot from all over Europe.-

These things can no be seen in the tourism of inside of USA.-
I m french and my english is not Shakespearien. Far from it...
Imo Spain is not Florida like but more California. There's nothing in Europe like Florida ^^

Survivingeath.-

I love Cannes and the blue Coast although its beaches that have little sand for my taste.-Their villages
are also beautiful and their atmosphere is very elegant .-

Also I really like the Basque Coast, Biarritz ,S,Jhon of Luz ,etc and the Spanish Part ,San sebastian ,Zarautz eetc that maintains the elegance of old tourism of the Belle Epoque when the Kings and the Court they were
going vacationing there ,.

They have also stayed there their magnificent old Palaces of other Centuries-

it is a zone with less Sun but is a Paradise.-

Retuen2fl.-

Here we are talking about international tourism that is much more transcendent in all aspects than the
inside,

In the Inland tourism, China will always be a country unbeatable.-

The American tourists who visit Europe are the most enlightened ,those who have more concerns .-A minority that They are increasingly growing that there are in all the countries that do not conform with the elemental attractions of Sun golf, beaches etc.-

These tourists who have concerns intellectual .artistic, historical ,gastronomic ,etc etc etc who wish to see and enjoy
the best where it is .,They do not settle for the Disney castle and want to see the Castles for real, etc etc

And the curious thing is that for the Great majority of the international tourists, where more they go is to
Spain because these think that this things different where more abound is in Spain and nevertheless the
American Tourists for the most part visit the european Countries and they do not Spain.-

I believe that is due to Hollywood that have made many films of idealized some European countries and almost none Spain is seen .-
Even where Spain appears in many cases the exteriors are false facts in the Studies .-

For Example .-I saw a tele-film where the Basque -Region they appeared in the film as a tribe of Gypsies. And the basque Region is one of the Regions more richest in European,An Impressive region resembling Bavaria
in Germany .-

A repeat of my first post.

In answer to your question, most Americans who travel internationally only visit Europe a once to a few times over the course of their lives. France and Italy are far more romanticized in the US than Spain while the UK shares a common language. Spain needs to do a better job of promoting itself in the US if it wants to attract more American visitors. I encourage my friends to go, but I'm not a promotion agency.

Spain already receives VERY high income tourists from the US. NUMBER ONE IN SOME CITIES.
But not interested in cheap package mass tourists as those that visit UK, more like very rich cruisers.
Too many tourists already.
Chinese tourists are the main target point.
Spain is doing a good job, precisely with the Port of Miami - Cruises.

2 years ago in Barcelona this city she subsidized a movie made there by Woody Allen and the number of American Tourists increased very a lot to the point that this city today is satured and there are protest with signs in some walls of.-:
"tOURISTS, GO HOME" ja ja ja ,.

But the rest of Spain is still with few tourists Americans although some cities as Granada Or Seville also are almost saturated in high season of tourists japaneses and european.-.-

In Spain the vast majority of the american tourists only know Barcelona and they visit little other wonderful places different of Spain that visit a lot the tourists of others countries of Europe.-

It is curious that however is a very secundary destination for the American Tourists.

For what reasons does i happens this anomaly -
Americans usually leave to see major cities such as London, Paris, Rome etc as well as history.

Indeed most Europeans head for NYC, although Florida and other resors are popular with Britons and Europeans from colder climates.

Actually Americans who travel abroad are usually far from any national sterotype and usually very interested in histry and events.
