San Diego - but only because of Ron Burgundy.

I love all three, but only been to San Diego and Vancouver.

San Diego is such a stunner, my favorite of the large coastal California cities. Vancouver is one of my Top 10 favorite cities in the world and I have high expectations for Auckland whenever I get around to seeing it someday.

Couldn't go wrong, I'd like any of the three but if pegged to pick just one of them then Vancouver.

I'm not huge on any of these, but San Diego for me. Despite Vancouver's highrises, San Diego is still the bigger city and the weather is phenomenal. The proximity to Tijuana and Los Angeles are also a huge bonus.

It doesn't behave like a bigger city and doesn't "feel" big. Los Angeles is about 100 miles from here. Farther than many outsiders think.

I'm from Los Angeles, so I have a pretty good idea of the distance.

Vancouver has an area where it looks big because of the skyline, but it overall feels smaller to me and there definitely seems to be less going on in general. It's not a world of difference, but it's noticeable enough. Keep in mind, I never said San Diego feels big--only that it feels bigger than Vancouver.

I've never been to Auckland, but I'd have to imagine that it's pretty unlikely it'd feel bigger given its population size.

I choose Vancouver for the mountains close by, the highly forested area and because I believe I'll feel most at home in Vancouver climate wise.

Auckland is second but it seems too small.
