The US isn't a disturbing place and nor is the UK. The original poster was ignorant and you don't win by descending to his level.

I just to make a point that every country has ''disturbing'' aspects to it.

Yeah, it's so crowded that none of us can move without bumping into each other, and the sun hasn't been spotted for decades. Look at me walking the dog through this congested, cloudy hellhole at 9:30pm last weekend:

In summary, the original comment says more about OP than it does about the UK.

He seems ignorant and paranoid.

I know, right?

I bet there was CCTV cameras watching my every step. Probably also some MI5 agents monitoring me from a tree house.

It is definitely not the best country to live in imo. I think the country across the channel is a much nicer place to live

You couldn't pay me a million dollars to be forced to live there.

I feel like it's an overpopulated island, with near constant overcast, where there is a CCTV camera every 20 metres, and you have no real civil rights that protect freedom of speech. Heck, even buying a kitchen knife requires ID, and you can be fined and even tossed in jail for not having a TV license.

Plus you have to watch the country basically become some theocratic Islamic vassal over the next 30 years.

I feel like guys like Orwell and Huxley weren't playing around. They seemed to see something in British culture that few others did.
Irene is that you!!?
