All I have experienced is the American work environment. At jobs I've had where most people lack beyond a high school degree there is often a lot of crude joking about sexual topics, new co workers are treated roughly, and some people go out of their way to be a pain towards people they don't like. Many people slack as much as possible and don't care about the quality of their work. Employee turnover is high. At jobs I've had where most people have a college degree conditions are much better, the same problems exist but on are much more isolated.

Depends on the company and depends on the job. In my life I had to jobs as employee in two companies and as autonomous in many others. Some are competent and polite, some are rude and lazy, some are shy, some are more sociable... I also had some bosses acting like dictators, other give large autonomy to the team... really, there is no standard.

Sounds like where I'm currently working for the national parks. Agreed that higher educated workplaces are better.
