How is this a death panel, the parents have raised the £1.3 million through crowdfunding for the treatment in the US, the issue isn't about money it's about human rights and the rights of a child with severe brain damage and who is in pain not to undergo treatment that will cause yet more pain.

As for Great Ormond Street Hospital, it is also not short of money, it receives Government money and has a sizeable charitable income (it holds the Peter Pan copyrights) and the hospital is currently undergoing significant redevelopment.

This is not about rationing or money, it is to do with Human Rights Law, and the Court Case was in relation to Human Rights Legislation.

The list of medical research and innovation from Canada is long. Anyone living in a country without national health care should learn more about what it is ... however, given that the POTUS has stated that USA news is fake, I do understand why people in the USA are misinformed and confused about national health care.

How ridiculous. We're one of about three modern countries who don't have it. And it's all about money and lobbies.

Americans are so brainwashed. Our health care is not much better for it either. We pay more and receive a lot less for it.

The US health care system sucks.

When universal health care is involved, you just know Americans are going to make it political.

Sadly certain groups in America just love all this talk about death panels.

There is no such thing as a viable free market health care system. It is one area where free market cannot work. It's called a free market fail.
In the meantime the U.S. health care system is the worst of all the advanced economy countries and is about to get much worse if the Republicans get their way in Congress.

Leading edge medical research is undertaken in countries that provide national health care and it is completely incorrect to assume that national health care benefits equates to absence of medical research.

Responding with an ad hominem attack does not help prove whatever point you have, alas I shall not respond in kind.
