If you mean honest as "someone who isn't hiding his/her opinions".

In this case: Arab countries, Israel, some (but not all) coutries in Eastern Europe.
Probably: England, South America, Japan...but lack the experience to judge about them.

You should define "honest" OP. Absence of cheating, lying and theft? Being ethical, reliable, reputable, law abiding, fair in judgment, genuine?

Germans are pretty honest - they say what they think, most are reputable, reliable, law abiding, and genuine...

While honestly should be a black and white issue, it is malleable depending on the culture. The Japanese have a reputation for being extremely honorable and they are in business. OTH, many (most?) of them have zero compunction over screwing their government out of money.

Honesty when it comes to character and integrity. Like when doing business, or everyday interactions. Would a person take advantage of another.
Here in Brazil they have what they call "Jeitinho Brasileiro" a way of manipulating or overcoming rules...I love the Brazilian people but you gotta be careful because in general they are not the most honest.
Where i grew up, Cannes and surrounding areas people are very caring and moral standards are highly admirable among the people, so they tend to be honest and courteous for the most part.

One never knows when a human being is honest, it is the nature of the mask.

Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.

P.S., survingearth, you ain't never gonna leave this world alive, you will not survive earth.

Honestly, honesty?

In what situation? Most of us have told white lies.

I do find most people honest. Yes there are places where you watch out for thieves and pick pockets.

One of the most honest people I ever met was an Italian who found my passport, ticket info, money pouch etc, that I had left on the washroom counter in Pearson Airport. He walked around until he recognized me from my passport photo.

Things like that stay with you forever. Thanks stranger!!
