Manila - It's very close. They are both very similar cities.. and they are both kind of bad. Bad as in bad traffic, high crime/slums, Hot and humid, etc. I would choose Manila because it's more English friendly and easier to make friends with the locals and I would have take that over Jakarta's superior cuisine and cultural heritage
Hanoi, Vietnam vs. Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), Vietnam
I was supposed to go Vietnam this month for my first time. To live? Ho Chi Minh seems nicer, cleaner, wealthier and I like the hot weather. To visit? I’d prefer Hanoi

Berlin vs Melbourne
Berlin. Lived in Melb for 7 years so Berlin would be great to try.

Pittsburgh or Manchester?
Pittsburgh. It's in America, and therefore more tax friendly and conservative.
Conservatism, low COL, and low taxes are cited as America's appeal over other Anglophone countries. But there's one state that really bucks the American Trinity of conservatism, low COL, and low taxes, one state where the good stuff America is known for is not to be found. That state is California.
Having spent a lot of time in both cities, Sydney by every measure! It is my least preferred Australian State Capital city but beats out SF which is in a very sad decline. It is awful to witness....My Favourite thing about SF? Proximity to the majesty of Yosemite and Redwoods and seeing it in the rearview mirror.

Istanbul or Saint Petersburg?
Istanbul. I absolutely love the history of the city and and I think Turkish culture is a little more exotic/interesting than Russian. Istanbul is also a good base for Eastern European exploration. Although Petersburg is too, actually.
Montreal. With apologies to Zurich as I have only spent one day there, but Montreal is one of my favorite cities in North America. In fact I hope to live there, part-time, someday.

In honor of the match today, Paris vs Munich
Munich. I toured Paris for a day and would like to see Munich.
Durban as love the beach culture, the tropical ambiance, the gardens, the Indian Market. The Zulu culture and the countryside outside of Durban is Devine. Shades of Scotland. Dislike the need to be aware of surroundings in the sense of mugging and how central Durban has changed for the worst over the decades.
Never been to Alexandria, but believe it has changed from the days it was a cosmopolitan city drastically. Not a big fan of Cairo or Port Said so will judge it over the Egypt I have some familiarity with.
Chartres in France with Tubingen in Germany. (have lived in both places) A trifle small perhaps, but both famous in own rights.

I'll go Tubingen - I speak some German and overall really enjoy Germany and could live a good life there (I'm here right now actually ).
