Like literally every part of the world. Every street, every neighborhood, every suburb, every business, every building, every landmark, every tiny little town, every territory, etc

I think with the US alone it would take about 6+ years

The whole world would probably take about 10 years[Depends of course on how you go through it too], maybe 10 months with a big rush. But then again the US is very big, we got literally more cities than Russia and China combined.

I guess it just depends how much of the world you really wanna cover.

Like literally not missing at all one part would probably almost be impossible, but maybe I am overthinking it.

That is a gross underestimation, I'm afraid.

There are more than 620,000 restaurants in the United States. If you could afford to dine in 4 of them every single day, it would take you 424 years to get done with just those. Also, try to fathom how long it would take to travel 4.12 million miles of road. Because that's how much there is just in the United States.

The world is much larger than anyone of us can fathom. There is far more to see and do than anyone can possibly cover in their lifetime. It is rather humbling.

Do you anyone who came close to achieving this?

Can you provide a source for that last statement?

Actually I can't find the source where it was once.

But I don't know if we're counting tiny towns for that matter.

If you traveled 60mph, without ever slowing down, it would take something like 8 years to travel all the roads in the US.

In real life it would probably take a few lifetimes.

Not personally, but I read travel books written by bikers many years ago detailing how they traversed tens of thousands of miles of roads in North America in a fairly short period of time.

That's the closest I know to anyone achieving this.

I doubt if anyone could visit the 200 countries in a year, just touching down and stepping on the tarmac.

I would also imagine you would need for all people to disappear somewhere, be dead or move into one huge space so that the travelling can be more comfortable and not unpleasant.

It would be impossible to visit every building or business in the US. Even if one could complete all the ones currently exisiting, by the time one is finished there would be 100,000+ new business and 100,000’s of new buildings, not considering new streets. Just doing the US would be impossible, not even considering the world.

Take these numbers, 6+ million commercial buildings, 3+ million multi family, and an unknown number of residences. Not including things like barns, government buildings, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are 50 million buildings in the US alone. If one visited 1 building every minute, so 60 buildings an hour, 24 hours a day for 60 years, that’s about 31.5 million buildings. There’s no realistic way to visit that many buildings spread out of such distances.

Forget the US, maybe doing one major city in a decade, might be possible...
