China now claims largest new vehicle sales, but it will take years to impact the ownership figures such as the per capita ownership figure. Sales figure is important though, that's the market size, and it drives other industrial productions.

Cars are pollutions. It's not a good indicator of future sustainable wealth generation. Electric cars have some future.

All of these things depend on infrastructures.

Cars are not big polluters, especially as cars are getting more and more fuel efficient...

Half of the worlds greenhouse gas emissions come from Agriculture and Electricity & Heat production (from fossil fuels).

You will notice the per capita link someone posted in the first page, all those top countries have great/clean air and pristine nature side.

Local car pollution is a huge issue in most European cities, especially with all the diesel cars we have here.

Hydrogen fuel cell or ethanol driven cars are ecological amiable. There is no other choice for our own emerging horizons. Japan is apparently on top of Planet Earth game to offer these renewable minimal oil forcing mechanisms. Brilliantly comprising Toyota, Honda, Daihatsu, Nissan, Suzuki, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Isuzu, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Mitsuoka immaculate vehicle companies that are always winning awards every year. People from other independent sovereignties have to copy these engine moving trendsetters.
