It doesn't appear as though too much has changed in 4 years, despite a trend of movement in the right direction.

It's not like the Finn's are killing themselves en masse, but an above average rate for an OECD country should surely be factored into this sort of study.
600-700 people out of 5.5 million won't make any statistical difference in a study.

Never heard of this Jeremy Clarkson guy until now. It seems like he is one of these blowhard media types who likes spouting stupidity about foreign countries and nationalities, and that the UK seems fairly profilic at churning out.

The top 6-7 countries are so close to each other that a slight difference can move you down up or down several places. But as the first time also immigrants were included in the survey, maybe they put us on the top. After all, rather president Niinistö than Putin, Erdogan, Xi, Ho Chi Minh or Milosevic. Or whoever leads those DNR/LNR places.
The only logical change I can think of is that unemployment went down by two points last year.

Clarkson is a popular TV car-stuff presenter in the UK and Northern Europe, and is known for inflammatory rhetoric. A typical old-school conservative "Rule Britannia" Brexiteer. That's why he did not only diss Finns but also pastel-coloured scooters.

That's just those who've carried out the act, not all who contemplate suicide carry out the act. There's potentially many more experiencing severe depression.

From what I've seen, he'd certainly be at home on this forum.

Wrong, that's a TV persona he adopted when Top Gear re-branded itself. He mainly does it to annoy easily-offended people, and he's no Brexiteer, in fact he's a vocal supporter of the EU. He campaigned for the UK to remain within the union.

Hooray for Finland!

And mental health care is not that good here, it's one of the things recognised to need improving. It really depends on your area whether you get decent, timely treatment or not.

I’m not so sure that it’s a “TV persona he adopted”. I seem to recall this happening:

What Jeremy Clarkson ranted at Top Gear producer during 30-minute tirade | Daily Mail Online

“There’s no hot food!”

Putin is bringing Russia to number one. He is finally making Russians proud of their country again.
