This next summer (June-July), I want to take a 2 week long vacation spending $1,250 or less. I’ll be traveling from Shreveport, Louisiana, USA. I’m casting a wide net, but would ideally like something with snow and skiing, so I’m probably looking for something in the southern hemisphere.

Maybe Chile or Argentina? It is relatively inexpensive there.

Grab a Spirit flight to Lima and a Sky Airlines flight to Santiago. You will save on the airfare that way freeing up more spending money.

Here's a fare tip:

Dallas-Copenhagen,$751. Copenhagen-Vilnius $125, total $876, in June, with plenty of change for a hostel and meals within your range..

But if you enter a search terms for Dallas-Vilnius, you'll be quoted over $1300, which blows your budget and leads you t think you can't go there..

Always look for flights to major hubs, then build an add-on from there.

Airfare is cheap if you book in advance. South America is your best bet

Total, but I could PROBABLY stretch that to $1,500 if I really wanted/needed to. I’m middle class, but I try to budget.
