In my country:

There will be massive protest from all over the country. Impeachment will be filed against the president left and right. A total chaos that I cannot imagine.

I wonder why Americans are so cool with it, not much protest going on. Or am I missing something?

For starters, protesting has been heavily stigmatized in a negative way in the US.

However, the biggest reasons are beyond that; Americans don't have the same worker protections some other countries have. It's easy to lose jobs. Also, between the hours spent commuting, working, dealing with the family and other obligations, we are too distracted and too tired to take to the streets.

Then of course, some are just plain clueless.

As I understand it, the workers will all be paid, even those who didn't work.

There are a lot of countries where government paychecks are not forthcoming for months at a time. They are not newsworthy countries, and no posters here live in any of them.

In some countries, education is so respected, that teachers keep going to work anyway.
