Ok, understood and I think you're right. I think in London there is more hostility toward brown people than black people. Even in a few parts of the US, I think this may also be true, at least recently.
I should warn my brown friends of Indian Hindu, Filipino and Sri Lankan Buddhist background to watch out for that in both the US and the UK. What a terrible time to be brown, everyone hates us.

I hear what you're saying but if it is its not about religion, the poster should have said their is racism in the UK towards all brown people. I imagine other religions are just as discriminated. Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhist can be pretty brown also.

Well to be fair you could say the same thing about race and President Obama. Or in my city the white flight from the 10% Black residents going along with the election of a Black mayor, Tom Bradley for 20 years before he retired.

I can't speak for the UK but in most of the US, they will be fine. There are a few places though where I'd be careful. Parts of the Midwest and Oregon are where I'd be most vigilant.
They have started their own culture although a small amount of blacks have integrated into the founding American culture. However America is also not the agrarian country the founders wanted it be so the question is what exactly are people supposed to integrate to? The endless materialism and suburbs that make up current America?

Regarding the OP, the UK is generally more integrated than the US. You see people of all races living SIDE BY SIDE. I was just there. You hardly see this in the US except Oakland or Queens. Generally in all of America, whites live with whites *blacks with blacks * Hispanics in their own areas. Exceptions would be Asians, who are more likely to live side by side with Whites (or Hispanics in many parts of California). Not talking about daily interactions- for instance, a lot of work places have a mix of races, and yes they do interact. I'm talking about WHERE YOU LIVE, in the US, YOU LIVE WHERE YOUR RACE LIVES.

As an Asian-American, I had personally more encounters of racial tension involving my race in Australia more than any of the other countries. I do believe Australians have a thing against Asians (because there are so many of them there perhaps ?!). However, it may be just that Australians are not as polite as what I am used to.

Compared to Australians, Americans do seem to stick to "safe", polite topics when around those they don't know. Ever consider that it might have been your behaviour/attitude that people might have been reacting to? Aussies generally won't hold back if they think you've crossed a line.
