There has been plenty of bloodshed in U.S. history. This is probably how almost all small nations turn into large, powerful ones. Thank God that the U.S. is finally a mostly peaceful nation today.
Ive always thought it strange, so many people today condemn those who resort to violence, or use violence to achieve a goal...when this is exactly how the US became a free and separate nation...furthermore, that we celebrate this every July 4th!!

If England had won at the end of the American Revolution, all the patriots and patriotic events we celebrate, would have instead gone down in history as domestic terrorism.

We do have a s- ton of money in this country. but only one in a hundred come anywhere close to enjoying the fruits of that awsome stock market.

I love this country, but it is really squandering its potential to the detriment of the common working man and woman.
Everyone I know is raking it in

Indeed, history is written by the winners.

I see the USA of the future as similar to Russia: a military super power but a 3rd world cesspool on the local level with most people being drug addicts or alcoholics and life expectancy in the 50s.

Have you ever compared the GDP of Russia with the GDP of the United States?

Another economic down turn could change American economic standing in the world. There’s too much economic dependency on China (forget about who needs who). If trade war continues, China may cut off rare earth supply. China has over 90% monopoly in the world over processed rare earth and processing technology, and a dominant future reserve position of 40% of world. Without rare earth, tech advancements will come to a grinding halt, and economy will go into a recession.

There is no war objectives in the current trade war with China, other than just fighting China on a “zero sum game illusion”. What’s expected to gain to make it so great? China has giant trade surplus against the whole world, and isn’t going to stop developing.

A few thousand super rich persons scew the numbers. Consider cost of living and the average American is marginally better off than most people in mid level gdp countries. Life expectancy in most rural counties in the USA is lower than Bolivia or Yemen.

Pretty much, the world including my region (eastern europe) would never care about Russia just like we don't care about North Korea if it wasn't for the nukes...otherwise culturally, economically and in any case possible they're going downwards since the fall of the Berlin wall.

In the 90s the US had a very good streak economically with the collapse of the Japanese economy and the Russian mafia-state after the anarchic 90s in eastern europe...these days China are benefiting the most from the bleak outlook of america and will be unmatched power in another 5-10 years.
