Trump can please himself in terms of starting an argument with Denmark, and he should concentrate on nect years election rather than trying to cause problems with allies such as Denmark.
Please be responsible, don't give him ideas.

Aren't there enough real adversaries in the world for the USA, than to create more for no good reason? North Korean nukes, China tariff wars, Russian whatever, Venezuela, Iran, Syria, Turkey, do we need to make the list longer? Denmark, really? I mean, you really need to work hard to make Denmark an adversary, and then be able to explain why. It reminds me of the John Candy movie, Canadian Bacon, where they started an invasion of Canada to take attention away from all sorts of other bad stuff that was going on.

Trump is creating ridiculous distractions for the media like buying Greenland so less attention will be given his secretly pursued agenda. Meanwhile, he weakens NATO, the UN, the EPA, Iran nuclear agreement, Global climate initiative, abortion rights. He uses the immigration crisis at the border to further his own agenda, but does nothing to ameliorate the situation. I could go on......

He will not allow gun control to pass since the NRA gives him millions. He defends neo Nazi groups. He is destroying everything Obama worked for- that is his stated goal. He is not just stupid- he is dangerous.

Then Greenland will be headed for extinction and that would be a good time for the Danes to bail out of it, and if they're really unscrupulous enough they'll sell it to anybody ignorant enough to buy it from them.

If Trump had any foresight he'd research the geology of Greenland and discover the truth about it and he would never offer to purchase it. Neither would anybody else who was considering it and did some proper research about the geology of it.

The Danes and geologists and the majority of other scientists who research such things know the truth, that the real, solid rock that the ice sits on top of is actually all below sea level. They know that Greenland isn't one big island, it's three islands joined by ice and that what presently sits above sea level is crushed, frozen rock (permafrost) that has been shaped by the elements and 1 - 2 miles high of sheet ice. They know that when all of the frozen permafrost gravel and sheet ice presently above sea level on Greenland has completely melted then Greenland will no longer exist, it will all disintegrate into crumbly pebbles and all of it will be below sea level then. All of it.

.
Well, with sea-level rise much of Denmark too would go underwater.

I am neither for nor against buying Greenland. However, considering that we have made or are in the process of slowly making enemies of nearly every country that used to be our allies just by being our selves, I can see some of the the thinking going on behind the ill-concealed attempt to "buy" Greenland. The Russians are just a little hop and a jump over the pole from us now, and in a world war in the future, they would most likely invade via Canada , Alaska and Greenland to get bases set up near us and get to us more easily. Greenland is chock full of rare minerals now buried under a melting ice cap. Those would soon be up for grabs for whoever gets there first. And then there is the reality of how long it took Denmark to surrender when the Germans invaded it and occupied it. Their king, Christian X, only took 2 hours to surrender to the German occupation. With China expanding its military base possibilities by buying trust in Africa, South America, and building islands out into the South China Sea to provide faster access to Southeast Asia in a war, Greenland would be a huge catch for either Russia or China (now both considered to be our enemies now) for building a base next to the US from the north. The planetary powers that be are already preparing for the next war, jockeying for positions of power and the usurping of lands for bases. It is unfortunate that so few see the danger the entire world is in these days. Those who sleep and those who divest themselves of their friends and allies will face the onslaughts alone and may not be able to survive that. Just an opinion, don't get too bent out of shape over it.

This furore was on the TV news on Wednesday midday in the U.K.
After Denmark’s P.M., Mette Frederiksen’s short speech about the cancellation of Mr. Trump’s visit to Denmark where she stressed that as much as Denmark wanted to maintain its close relationship with the U.S., Greenland wasn’t for sale, a TV reporter interviewed a few Danes, who, like most of their countrymen, spoke fluent English.
To a man, or woman, they all said that Trump’s idea was a non starter, Greenland’s future is the business of Greenland, not the U.S.
If you think about it, it went down in Denmark, much as it would have gone down in the U.S., if the U.K. had said it was interested in buying Guam, or Puerto Rico.
Buy Puerto Rico? Are they kidding? Who the h*ll do those Limeys think that they are?

Greenland has absolutely no desire to be part of this country. I can't say I blame them. Trump has A Lot of gall to bring up such a subject.
