You do get snow in London, and you do get hot summers, however the tempreture is usually comfortable rather than extreme.
As for the rich, they can hop on a private jet at one of London's many airfields and can be in the South of France and mediterranean coast within 2 hours.
You get that even more here in the extreme southeast of the netherlands, but while summers are getting hotter and hotter, winters are getting milder and milder and we now have an autumn/spring like setting for 9 months straight the last 8 years or so and that is the same in the UK

The Netherlands probably has similar weather, although I have only ever visited in the summer.
As for the South of France, you can get to Nice in 2 hours on a budget airline, whilst faster private jets used by rich such as the Bombardier Global 6500 (Max Speed 690 mph) would be a lot faster.
London is hardly full of British people, it's as multicultural as NYC and has 20 million overseas visitors a year.
Rates of social mobility are not that great in the US, which has it's own elites, and he British class system is not what it was, whilst modern Britain iis much more meritocractic.
As for the Royal Family they have no real power and do not impact on the eneryday lives of people in the UK.
London has some beautiful areas which attract a lot of the worlds rich, although such people often have numerous houses across the world.
London is one of the great shopping cities, with places such as Bond Street, Regent Street, Slane Street etc and it has numerous famous department stores such as Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Liberty etc, as well as many bespoke upmarket shops.
London's pleasant green space, and history is also amazing, and it's a much more relaxing city. Around 47% of London is green space and it's home to historic deer parks and even four world herotage sites including Kew Gardens, as well as the Royal Parks. On top of that you have over 3,000 Parks and many hundreds of beautiful garden squares in Central London.
In all London has over 3,000 parks of varying sizes designated by the boroughs as ‘public open space’, London is a green city. Together they cover almost 18 per cent of London which is more than the area of the city covered by railways and roads combined. London is also now the world’s first National Park City and is aiming for 50% of the city to be green by 2050.
As for the architecture it is also historic and amazing, from the beautiful Nash designed Regency terraces through to magnificent Victorian architecture and the Albertopolis and beyond.
As well as the places mentioned in the quote you also have numerous destinations only a few hours away via Eurostar such as Lille, Brussels, Paris, Lyon etc, whilst trains also go direst from London to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, the South of France and the Alps, with further direst routes to Bordeaux, Geneva, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Essen, Aachen and Dortmund,Antwerp, Liège etc
In terms of the rich they may want to use their private jets to fly to various European and other destinations and there are plenty of prvate airfields around London.
Whilst there are a lot of social and cultural events that the wealthy enjoy in London with lots of sporting clubs and major horse racing close at and such as the Epsom Derby ore Royal Ascot.
Rates of social mobility are better in the US, they don't appear so on graphs because in the UK, you're travelling between two closer-together income classes...
Americans are richer at median than the British using almost every measurement of national wealth you can think of, financial assets owned, gross wealth per adult, median household wealth per capita, average wage, disposable household income per capita, financial consumption, mean wealth per adult...

What does any of this have to do with the question? The question is 'if you're filthy rich'. Personally I wouldn't want to live in any city with 'no go area's' like New York, I would also choose London for the weather (I hate cold weather), the proximity to Europe and because of the sports scene. But hey if you're that rich why not live in both!

Social mobility is often over estimated by Americans, when in fact if you examine the US it is a country of deep economic division and a system that favours elites, and America does love elites, from it's exclusive universities and their Fraternities and sororities, through to golf and country clubs, and areas of extreme wealth and extreme poverty, and even it's health and welfare systems.
I am not a raving communist however I do believe in more compassionate capitalism, and the US is very divided as a nation, and this is shown in lower rates of social mobility when compared with some European countries, and the same is true of the UK, although the UK has a better safety net and universal healthcare.

Witley Park in Surrey which is one of the home counties adjoining London was bought by a Russia couple Galina and Oleg Smirnov in 2018, and extensive work is being carried out. The house has a famous underwater conservatory (sometimes described as an underwater ballroom) under the lake and numerous urbex youtubers have made videos,. The previous owner businessman Gary Steele was quite protective of his land and was arrested after shooting one of the youtubers, and there are oither youtube videos of him attacking people and trying to run them down in his car. Today there are different owners however security is very tight, and no one is allowed near the property.

Another mansion that Urbex youtubers visit is that of Nicholas van Hessen slum landlord who was convicted and sent to prison for paying a gang to attack a business associate and has been linked to other violent crimes and murders.
Van Hessen started builng this masion in Uckfield in Sussex in England over thirty years ago, however it was never completed and not stands unfinished.
Van Hessing has made numerous derogatory and nasty comments over the years and has a history of violence and intimidation leading one Judge to compare him to the Devil.
