I have a degree in geography but we don't really study this
Yeah, I do fine with most African countries, but occasionally mess up some of the capitals.

I'm better with nations & their capitals than geography, but I am no slouch at recognizing which country is where, either.

I never bothered to learn the order of the Lesser Antilles, and I'd miss some of the Pacific islnds. Otherwise, confident of 100%.

Been able to do this since I was 12 -- collected stamps.

Fail. You don't havee to know where any country is, just be able to think of a lot of names, and then you are rated for typing speed and accuracy. Impossible get them all, once you list either Congo or Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic lights up and you could never guess what they call the other one. No way to enter the one whose capital is Brazzavile. And you'd have to speed-type a country ever four seconds, zero typos.

I got 100% of countries on this "name all countries of the World" Sporcle quiz (pretty good quiz page btw). There's another quiz on which you have to locate them in a World map, on that one my best score is 190 countries out of 197; I have trouble locating Oceania countries and, to a lesser degree, small Caribbean countries.

but even so, I wouldn't say I'm good at geography, which is not about memorizing countries, but a very complex science.

I like the sporcle ones that involve placing the actual country on a map, while still being generous with time. I also like the ones that involve clicking on countries or states without outlines. I was able to fully clear the US and Canada there.

Just curious -- what country name did you enter, to get it to recognize Republic of Congo (Brazzzaville)? Did you really type in 190 names in 900 seconds?

On sporcle, you can usually get away with DRC for the Democratic Republic of Congo, but have to type in Republic of Congo for the other one.

I missed 25. Mostly islands. Most notable missed were Ghana and Albania.
