You must have looked at the same websites I looked at. Arlington, TX is THE largest city with no rail or bus. The populations of US cities without public transit go down very rapidly after that.
My city has a population of about 45,000, which is not even among the top 500 US cities. It's definitely suburbia, but it has several bus routes. I see people getting on and off the bus all the time.
The state of public transport in the US may be bad, but it's not "that" bad.
try To go from point a to point B in Atlanta lets see how well it goes Without a car.
Yes please. Using words like dumb, stupid and ugly to talk about peoples homes it pretty trashy. Lets keep it on topic.
I would like to see some pics of Australia. I am sure it is a beautiful place.
You are talking about a place that you have never been to. Ignorance is bliss. Go and do some travels before joining to a debate about comparing Australia with other countries.

I was correcting you on your mistakes about a place you claim to have lived. I have never said canada was better at all or put down Australia. Please learn how to read and be more consistent with your arguments instead of using childish insults. Please stick to the topic.

Yes, I did live in Canada. I also studied at Concordia University and Sydney University. My arguments are not childish. Australia has superior living standards and offers more than Canada, that's all. Australians don't even consider to move to Canada for the long-term, I actually didn't meet many there. There are lots of Aussies in whistler just having fun in the snow. Ironically, Australians are the only ones allowed to have unlimited holiday visas to Canada. All the other countries have a quota for that visa. Most aussies I meet in Sydney always end up in London, Hong Kong or NYC for better experiences, and most of them have in their plans to come back home to retire.
I did notice the Australian commercial layout resembled more like the British "high street"
Australian commercial districts vary a lot by city and of course their age, so I wouldn't say there is any particular Australian style. Both street views you posted were old districts originally built in the 1800s.

I was going to say as much. Burwood and Parramatta are more similar to somewhere like this, which is one of the oldest "suburbs" though no one would consider it as such (according to Canadian semantics anyway). I know that in Australia inner city neighbourhoods are also referred to as suburbs.
I have a snobby English friend who cannot stand Australia, Nor he seems to enjoy Australians too much.
Ironically he's not the first British man I know that doesn't seem to enjo anything Australian. I also know a man from Scotland who has been to over 70 countries but refuses to even visit Australia.
That does not mean I would not visit Australia, however I would not live there... I need to live in real countries like European ones or Asia. Basically the old world.
Australia to me has this offshoot of America feeling, Sort of an invented country rather than a real nation.
