There are a couple of big acts from the US that had a big year back in 2019. Tool and Dream Theater come to mind. If any of the big names from the 70's/80's put out an album, it's going to top the charts. I'm talking about the likes of Metallica, GNR, Aerosmith...
BTW, I really like Nightwish. Can't wait for the next album.
Well yep, GNR,Aerosmith and Metalica are big ones but some how I am missing that sound what big US-names had in past.It is hard to explain, I just know when hear it...I remember when I visit in NC and SC at 1985 and bought album of Molly Hatchet and thought that if they will have tour in Europe, need to go and check. They had that sound, something similar that ZZ-top. But I guess they never came and tour here.
Need to check that Dream Theather and Tool.
Concerning next album of Nighwish, few months more.Floor Jansen told just in TV-interview that it will be really good, some what different and she like to tell more about it but can not do so...So need to wait and see.
But also bass guitar player from Nightwish (Marko Hietala) is launching his solo album quite soon, as an "Side project".
Teaser from coming album(There is some elements from Nightwish but other hand is more straight/prog-rock):
I grew up when rock music was popular in the United States. Nowadays, other kinds of music have become more popular among young people in this country.
So, I was wondering what countries are people really into rock music nowadays? Where would people be crazy about bands like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Judas Priest, Rush, Van Halen, Guns’n Roses, etc.?
Rock music is still popular, it's just different; the 1980's genre of rock music isn't the only type rock music that exists.
I like both bands but am bemused by this comparison. What similarities do you see?
They both play fairly simplistic hard rock rooted in the blues, which is best described as party rock. Both have their gimmicky stage act. KISS with the make-up and AC/DC with the schoolboy outfits.

Both have a decent amount of talent. They are good at what they do, but are nowhere near as adventurous as other groups from that era like Zeppelin or Purple.
