Lol.... hold a grudge much? You’re going to move out of the country in “5” years? You do realize that in 5 years...Trump will no longer be POTUS....even if he gets re-elected in 2020. Don’t wake up.... I got a bet on ya!

All the Democrats want to leave America when a Republican is President. And all the Republicans want to leave America when a Democrat is President.

But few people actually ever leave for that reason alone.

There's no grudge his election solidified my decision, I had been thinking about it for some time. Whether he gets elected or not this time around has no bearing on what I already decided and if he does I realize he'll be done when I'm ready to go it doesn't make a difference. I don't want to remain in a country full of people that brought him to power. Time to move on like I said. We have the choice of the type of people we want around us. But yeah those that support him at all cost are fools!

You don't know squat about me so your bet isn't even on my radar, after I'm done with this post I won't give this exchange another thought. I'm just killing time right now that's why I bothered to respond. Some people have short term, medium term and long term plans LOL I'm not sure whey that's hard to comprehend.

And that speaks to the beauty of America. We are extremely competitive politically, no one party or one ideology can dominate for long, unlike Japan where it's almost always the LDP or one of its sister parties in power. There's a little something for everyone. Want something Left wing like Scotland? Go to California. Want the Real America of cowboys and religious conservatives? Go to Texas. Not like Germany where you're stuck deciding between the center left CDU (I know the CDU is center right in theory but Angela Merkel has pushed the party left, to the dismay of her fellow party members) and far left (the Socialists and the Greens). And a tiny fringe of true conservatives in the AFD, and moderates in the CSU of Bavaria.

Of course he has knowledge. In case you haven't noticed Trump is one of the major players at stirring up misery in the media. He delights in spreading false information and misery. What do you think he's doing every time he tweets something? He's the most corrupt and worst president the USA has ever had. The whole world knows it.

3. Keep suggesting Gun Culture makes us dangerous.
4. Play up them race riots.
5. Play up the infectious diseases.
6. Play up Ice enforcement.
7. Play up how horrible the big cities are in the USA (remember when LA was due to get the bubonic plague)
8. Constantly say we don't have good jobs anymore.
9. Play up the cost of living -- and do little to change it.

These are just a few things you would do if you were trying to make the USA less attractive for the users who want to come here.

Considering ALL of those things are already happening in reality they don't need to be played up to make it seem worse and less appealing. It used to be appealing to people with high standards and good morals, and now it isn't.

It's not the rest of the world that needs to be made more aware of all of the USA's negatives, the rest of the world already knows all about it. It's the 50% of the American population who are oblivious or already corrupted citizens with low standards and with their heads in the sand who are ignorant and delusional enough to believe that the rest of the world wants to either come to America or become like America. They are the ones that need to recognize how unattractive and undignified THEY have become and that they're allowing their country to turn into a pit of corruption that only attracts other international people who are already corrupt exploiters.

Something has to give to turn things around but making the country seem a lot worse than it already is is not the answer. It will just make things worse.

OP, does your work let you take sabbaticals or anything of the sort? Maybe just trying another place for a bit might do you some good. It can at least let you try things out and give you a better perspective if you're removed from being immersed in what it is that bothers you about the US, and what it is that you miss about the US. It also gives you an idea of other issues, sometimes very similar ones just in slightly different forms, that other places you feel have it better have. I did the same in a few places. Ultimately, it was a lot more about what I missed about the US that made me decide to come back.
