My thoughts exactly, I was going to point Japan as the unquestioned top choice but they severely lack the fauna of elephants, tigers, koalas and so on so Africa or Australia get some points. For as long as landscape and climate is considered though I can't find a better place than Japan.

Do you have any particular African countries in mind?

No doubt that Tanzania and Kenya (especially the former) as well as Ethiopia and South Africa are naturally magical but large swaths of the East African countries are dusty, arid and featureless such as central Tanzania and northern & south-central Kenya.

There isn't the continuous beauty and natural features created by the likes of the Andes where at every turn there is a natural wonder. The East African rift is conformed by mountain isolates not a continuous range of peaks and valleys like the Alps or the Andes. There-in lies a major difference.

The fauna of Africa especially in the east of Tanzania (SouthEast of Kenya) and southern highlands of Tanzania are a magical sight to behold almost unmatched in the world. Of the two countries I would say Tanzania has the upper hand in this regard.

The regional culture/music is also great and enhances the beauty because it feels like its tied to the landscape...it's the varied geography that creates the various cultures and over 1,000 musical folk genres in the country.

COLOMBIA

Now I understand why I love Poland haha!
The Polish expat community in Colombia is growing day by day and I'm finally beginning to understand why.

Typical town square in the Eastern Andean Range of Colombia. Even Brigitte Bardot sang folk from the Eastern Andes.

Some more of the vast Eastern range of the Andes - larger than England, Bulgaria or Hungary and nearly twice Austria.

Inb4 some columbian user ruins the thread with his chauvinistic spam and cherrypicking, a thread that otherwise it could have had some cool&interesting responses.

EDIT: Uh, he already ruined it, quickly as expected.
