I'd move back to LA in a heartbeat. London is a great city and I love visiting; I'd love to live there too, for that matter. Maybe I will someday... But, given a choice of where to live indefinitely, I'd choose LA. I lived there for ten years of my life and loved it. The weather is indeed unbeatable, but beyond that, I also have a ton of friends there, actually like the city's culture, or more accurately elements of it, love the proximity to nature and the southwestern deserts which are my favorite environment.

I'm in a similar boat--really like London, have never lived there, but would be interested in trying it for a bit. Have lived in LA, have parts of it that I greatly like and lots of people I know and especially like the natural landscape around it (though wish more of it near-city had been preserved and the city made just slightly and more urban instead).
London and it's not even close. The only thing better about L.A. is the weather. London is a masterpiece.
