Eg. Colombia...

Amazon region = Japan or Montana
Pacific region = UAE
Llanos Savannah = UK
Caribbean Region = Greece
- Guajira Desert = Israel
- Sierra Nevada = Fiji
- Bayou (Cienagas) = Puerto Rico
Andes region = Italy
- Coffee region = Latvia
- Andean Plateau = Switzerland
- Southern Colombian Massif = Maryland or Belgium

In the US the term "subdivision" refers to what in the UK would be called a housing estate.
You can find maps measuring US states to countries by GDP rather than size.

Same as in Australia. The average is now about 400m2 for new sub divisions...

The smallest may be the Philippine "barangay". There are over 42,000 of them, ranging in population from 3 to a quarter-million.

The North West Territories of Canada are almost exactly the same size as the Northern Territory of Australia, and neither of them are actually states in their respective countries.
