Finding the US boring it's not hating it.

But the US is mind blowing homogenous!

After engaging in discussions about racism in America and the phenomenon of other nationalities from whiter countries commenting on it, it seems to me that there is a reluctance on all sides to just outright point out that the US simply isn’t a “white country” like the UK or Canada or even Argentina is. We spend a lot of time talking about how mixed race countries like Argentina and even the UK are, but somehow, there’s a reluctance to admit that the US is more multiracial than these places…why?

Then there’s the issue of the black population in the US…we seem to persist in 1) constantly insisting that the African American population is not an integrated or integral part of American society at all and 2) downplaying the unique presence of an African population in America, by pretending like the black populations of much whiter countries are comparable, or by trying to minimize the black American population in some respect.

For example, we’re allowed to talk about “how many black people there are in Brazil” in the context of global diversity discussions, using inflated numbers of “African Brazilians” that come from repeated rigorous surveys of genetics in parts of the Brazilian population, as well as more comprehensive racial castes in Brazil, but mostly just because of issues of demarcation, we somehow come to the conclusion that the African American population in the US has grown to 50 million self-identified “African Americans”, and that there’s somehow been no or almost no ethnic mixing to produce that - it doesn’t make sense to me. How do you come to that conclusion?

I find Europeans and Americans to be kind of myopic and deliberately ignorant when it comes to the racial diversity of American society - there seems to be a lot of narratives about race in America regarding the presence or lack thereof of multiracial people that we just accept as true even if it goes against common sense.

It doesn’t seem like America is allowed to assert the uniqueness of it’s culture as one that has been a mix-up of various European and African folkways because no one wants to acknowledge the racial diversity of the US - unless they can separate “African American” culture as something that isn’t really American. I find it ignorant and kind of insulting.
And your posts haven't mentioned those people of Native American, Asian, Pacific Island, Aleutian, Middle Eastern, or North African descent who live in the U.S. The U.S. doesn't consist only of black and white people.

I didn't say you hate the U.S. I said you dislike it. Your posts drip with dislike of and contempt for the country.

If you find the U.S. homogenous, so be it. Japan and Korea are homogenous and I love visiting those countries. The Scandinavian countries are largely homogenous and I find them charming. As are some of the South Pacific Islands.

The U.S. is not Europe and never will be. Europe is not the U.S. and never will be. Both places have positive and negative aspects to them, as does the rest of the world.

I think you're misinterpreting my nuisance with Americans like haveitup (the internet is full of loud race/politics obsessed Americans who want to educate everyone) and by educating it means they just want to listen to themselves!

I am responding to haveitup, because haveitup seems to believe the way the US sees the world = how the world sees itself.

That view is common in people who have never traveled, nor speak different languages, hence they have a myopic parochial view of humanity!

You're misinterpreting it as (me hating the US)

You also responded directly to me, a number of times. But rarely answered my questions. That is rude manners.

No misinterpretations. And once again, you said the word "hate," not me.

It's okay if you dislike the U.S. and find it boring.

The vast majority of the world's population has never traveled, does not speak different languages, and may have a myopic, parochial view of humanity. Do you down on most of humanity, then?

I hope you find a place to live where you're comfortable.

And BTW, haveitup hasn't posted enough information for you to make such a contemptuous judgement of him/her.

Good luck to you, kid.

Please specify the comments you made to me.

I will answer them as there is no need for me to be rude to you.

I just get lost in the endless essays/responses written by some of the forummers.

You can go through this short thread to see my questions. I'm not going to do it for you. My questions are short and to the point.

Are you kidding me?

The 3rd worldish crazy run down US cities are America's saving grace.

I prefer to spend time in Philadelphia than in some terrible suburb full of SUV Karens, and white men obsessed with their yards!!! American suburbs are singlehandedly the most AWFUL SOULLESS DEPRESSING places on this planet!! US suburbs are new money, tacky, trashy. I prefer your run down cities!

Diversity has always existed in Europe. Why do you think Europe has had so many wars? Way too many ethnic groups competing for resources cramped up together in small tiny Europe!!

It is the first time in European history that we enjoy peace. Before this continent was a continuous bloodbath! I think WWII taught us the lesson!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Diversity is not shoved down people's throats here.

- Africans who go to France often speak French and come from countries colonized by France.

- Immigrants to the UK often come from places that are part of the British commonwealth.

- Spain has a lot of immigrants from countries that were part of their old empire.

Then you have random places like Sweden where they need tax payers to maintain their quality of life, so they brought Iranians, Africans, some Asians in. It's a way to keep the quality of life going!! How else are you going to afford all those subsidies and retirement checks if no one works?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Europeans do not pamper to the whims of Karen!! Like they do in the US!

Europe is a civilization that focuses on the greater good over the individual, hence if random stranger does not like foreigners then he can **** off, the world will not stop just because Francois in some irrelevant french village does not like Franco-Africans!

This is opposite to US culture where the greater good cares a lot about Karens, Bobs and todds have to say!

It is the first time in European history that we enjoy peace. Before this continent was a continuous bloodbath! I think WWII taught us the lesson! "We?" "Us?" I don't think you're a European.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Diversity is not shoved down people's throats here. I have dozens of native European relatives and friends who would vehemently disagree with you.

- Africans who go to France often speak French and come from countries colonized by France.

- Immigrants to the UK often come from places that are part of the British commonwealth.

Correct, and irrelevant.

Then you have random places like Sweden where they need tax payers to maintain their quality of life, so they brought Iranians, Africans, some Asians in. It's a way to keep the quality of life going!! How else are you going to afford all those subsidies and retirement checks if no one works? However, this imported diversity needs to work and not just collect benefits. Mostly East Asians do this work. The aimless groups of young men from other countries don't. Neither do the pregnant women, children, elderly, and ill.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[b]Europeans do not pamper to the whims of Karen!! You are correct. With the exception of Eastern Europe, they pamper the whims of imported diversity, to the detriment of their native populations. Like they do in the US!

Europe is a civilization that focuses on the greater good over the individual, hence if random stranger does not like foreigners then he can **** off, the world will not stop just because Francois in some irrelevant french village does not like Franco-Africans! You mean the Francois who's paying taxes to support you? You really have a chip on your shoulder about being a foreigner in Europe, don't you?

This is opposite to US culture where the greater good cares a lot about Karens, Bobs and todds have to say!
You forgot that those Karens and Bobs are paying quite a few taxes to support, among others, millions of illegal aliens pouring through the U.S./Mexico/Caribbean borders.

You claim to like and admire Europe but your contempt for its native population and "irrelevant" locales is glaringly obvious.

Enjoy the free ride while you have it, kid. You lucked out on a historic social anomaly. It won't last forever, though.
