It seems to me that in developed countries what's public is what is private in developing countries.
It seem that develop countries give all their citizens benefits. Meanwhile, developing countries give their wealthiest cities a lot of benefits while their poorest get few or little.
Education
If you want to send your children to an English speaking school it seems that developing countries offer you that same school as a private institution. Meanwhile, developed countries would offer you that same school as a public institution.
Transportation
It seems in a developed country usually has high speed rail/trains. It seems most citizens could have access to this type of transportation. It seems that in developing countries you could buy a nice car and even get a driver to drive you around.
Healthcare
It seems that in developed countries regardless of income you would have high quality healthcare. In developing countries it seems that only the wealthy have access to quality health that might exceed the develop countries health. But it seems many other people don't have access to any healthcare.
Safety
it seems that developed countries are relatively safe for the majority of the population. It seems that in developing countries the wealthy citizens tend to segregate and have high security comparable to that one of develop countries.
These are only some ideas but I would highly interested in hearing you guys thoughts.
It's better to be known by your name by random people, have random people give you respect based on your last name and the well known history of your family and the development of a place than to be a simple and impersonal social security number (or tax ID number) known to you and a handful of public and private institutions. The first one die and streets, parks, bridges, etc will be named after them; perhaps busts or statues will be unveiled in their honor. Their family name will be in books, in magazines, in TV programs, etc even if only in the credits. The second one dies and beyond maybe their second generation of descendants will not be remebered and most likely your tomb will become one that receives no visitors at all. A thousand years past your death and if you are one of the first one at the very least those interested will be able to know who you were, what you did, etc; but, if you were of the second ones, basically no one will know that you ever existed.
That's the difference. There is no such thing as being immortal, but the idea of you can remain forever under certain situations.
All the other stuffs such as education, transportation, healthcare, etc becomes irrelevant. In this day and age, the cream in the top gets a high standard of living and has access to the best schools and the best universities in the world, the best transportation, the best healthcare, etc regardless where they are. Better yet, a good chunk are somebodies where they are or are related to someone that is or was.
Granted you don't have to be rich to acheive recognition. For example, a person could become a top author. In a country as big as the USAin territory and population the competition for becoming a top author is fierce because there are so many good ones, but if you do make it to the top you are almost guaranteed to become rich. The country is simply that big and your segment may be small relative to the rest of society, but as small as it is in relative terms is big in absolute terms. That same person would have a much easier time becomingone of the greatest author in a smaller country, whether it's developing or not. It's easier to become one because there are less competition, but given the size of the country and your segment it may or may not make you rich. What it will do is immortalize forever the idea of you. You can be a good author, but chances are high that in the USA you will never reach the top and will never become well known given the competition. In a smaller place there is less competition and people will recognize you when walking among them, and many more will know your name and who you were well after you are dead.
The world is ruled by money. If you are rich, then you can afford any kind of private lifestyle you want in a developing country.
However, the public transportation, roads, sanitation and most services will not usually be up to par. Developing countries are usually slower in most respects compared to developed countries. But that’s to be expected.
In developing countries, rich people live in homes and drive cars similar to rich people in developed countries, but the things built or provided by the governments are not as good as in developed countries. The education of most people and traffic are usually not as good or orderly as in developed countries.
Depends on how rich tbh. Very rich people in poor countries can easily move to rich countries, buy properties and **** and naturalise and never look back. See how many Russians and Chinese and Arabs are living in the West.
Middle class in rich countries unfortunately are all getting poorer and poorer.
Any middle class person who tells you it is better to be middle class in the developed world is trying to fool themselves.
I know a girl from Nigeria. Her father is a top figure in West African banking:
- Their net worth is around 300 million Euros.
- This girl spends her time at a private island in the Caribbean with friends (Among them a Saudi prince and some European socialites)
- She goes shopping in China because luxury goods are more plentiful.
- She gets her butt kissed wherever she goes, from staff at airports because she is a first class regular, to Americans pandering to her whims because she is going to spend big cash, to authorities in Europe making an exception over her Nigerian passport being expired.
- Her dad owns an apartment in Park Avenue NYC and she meets her mom there every fall and go for fittings with the designers of Dior, Balenciaga and Gucci.
- In Nigeria she has an army of servants.
- Her dad owns a private jet!!
Most middle class first-worlders have to work to stay afloat in the middle class, look at how many have fallen into the working class or poverty due to covid!

dude, in the US public education is on par with the third world. American education is good only when it is private and private in the US is for the rich.
Transportation, rich people do not take subways. In Brazilian cities for example the rich are known to have private helicopters take them around to avoid city traffic.
healthcare, you have access to the best medical system on earth wherever you live when you are rich.
I'll rather be middle class in a developed country with a stable and well-functioning democracy.
