There are not that many nazi supporters and it’s a pretty taboo to be associated with them around the world so not sure why you are making this straw man argument? I was referring to the average joe who loves their country despite it’s flaws and will “defend” their country from foreign criticism, be it China, Russia, Greece, or even the US. But sure, yes Nazies also are “defensive” but obviously they have antiquated ideals.

We need to be more careful with our language regarding China, because it will be weaponized to stir up support for the CCP. The grievances are with the Communist Party and with Xi Jinping, not with China the nation or the people.

There’s a lot of propaganda in China saying “The west hates you” and they use the rhetoric used regarding their country as proof. This isn’t going to make the turn against the CCP, it will give the CCP justification to vilify West with the support of the Chinese people.

The news in China says garbage like “democracy is impossible/incompatible with Chinese traditions/culture” and “Chinese style democracy” is just as valid as liberal democracy with free elections. There’s probably millions of people who believe that Coronavirus leaked into China from the United States due to the “failure” of Western governments to contain it.

Unlike what the CCP wants though, China is an intelligent country with lots of people who can see through this garbage, but we shouldn’t give the propagandists more ammo to throw

Whataboutism is the classic move of CCP apologists. Not excusing the US’s actions, but wouldn’t China be doing itself and the world a favour by following a more peaceful path as an economic power? For a regime that constantly champions how unlike the West their country is, they sure take no issue with repeating the same mistakes

China has done very well in attracting business and trade agreements with lots of countries without the use of force. I am aware how shady some of those deals have been, but they’ve at least been very beneficial for Chinese interests. Becoming a military bully like the United States is not something to aspire to.
