Well and credit where due they are happening - perhaps not at the pace we would like but UP Express is a reality in 3 months and this the Eglinton Crosstown is U/C
Well, those two projects just prove my point that transit planning in Toronto would proceed much more smoothly and efficiently with Metrolinx in charge. The two largest transit projects in TO, the UP Express and Eglinton Crosstown LRT, are all being constructed and owned by Metrolinx. If this were left up to the TTC/City Council, god knows if they'll ever see the light of day. And thank god GO Transit is not left up for the city council to meddle with, and Metrolinx is actually taking solid steps towards electrification, station and rail construction, and the 10-year target of 15-min headway for major GO lines. In the next 3 years alone, Metrolinx is in the process of laying down up to 500 km of new track. We will also see the roll out of new GO DMU and electric rolling around 2017.

I agree and really Toronto isn't really just Toronto if you think of it.. Its a large metro area that has contiguous urbanity with multiple cities/regions.. It anchors a region with over 8 million people and growing by over 100K per year.. We really do need to think as one big regional entity when it comes to transit as opposed to a TTC with limited scope/resources/vision to connect it all...
IT'S FUNNY HOW I ENDED UP BEING THE EVIL B-I-T-C-H BECAUSE OF MY HONESTY
I GUESS THIS IS HOW YOU NEED TO TALK TO CANADIANS FROM NOW ON:
-canada is so great
-canadian women are the most beautiful because in 1956 a canadian woman won miss universe
-the US is evil, canada is beautiful and everyone loves it
-all americans want to be canadians and put canadian flags on their backpacks even though Ive travelled the world and never saw an American doing this
-canada is the best and everyone loves it because is friendly even though their border guards are famous for harassing foreigners
-suburban looking Toronto is just like tokyo, NYC or hong kong!
-you have then eat healthcare system in the world, thats why people die waiting to see doctors due to LOONG waiting lists!!!
Australia. Canada is too similar to the United States. If I want the USA and its culture, I'll go there.
