The Muslim population of London is over 1 million but most are from outside the Middle East.
Of the Middle Easterners, they count over 100,000 Arabs from across the Middle East (but also North Africa), plus the non-Arab countries: 50,000 Iranians, 40,000 Afghans, 40,000 Israelis (although those of Jewish descent is far higher, but not counted as many may have been here for centuries), and >350,000 Turks/ Cypriot Turks.
In short I'd say the Middle Eastern population is about 500,000.
El Cajon California has a large Iraqi population. Now I am seeing the term Middle-Eastern and Muslim being used interchangeably. If that's the case then San Diego and Minneapolis rank up there too as they have the largest Somalian populations in the US.
France and Marseille in particular, but Australia? Wouldn't say a large Arab population can be found here..but there is a presence on the streets for sure.
Sydney primarily, many would be surprised to know that it's Arabic and not Mandarin that is the second most spoken language in city. Their are more Arabic speakers in Sydney than in Greater London and the entire state of California, if the various statistic agencies are to be believed.
Of course not all the countries of the middle east speak Arabic, and not all countries that speak Arabic are in the Middle East Sydney's population is only about 5% Islamic.

I got it wrong their are actually more Arabic Speakers in Sydney than all of England and Wales, if the Census data is correct.
