I read that the Philippines has the highest number of murders per year.
But I have no idea what they kill with.
Knifes? Hands? Bananas?

Wow, I didn't realize we had so many guns in the US. I have never known anyone that owns guns or who was even interested in them, that I was aware of (and I've been to Texas!).

I'm not sure how accurate those figures are. They have to be guesstimates.

I'm surprised Israel is not on the list somewhere. Self defense is a way of life there.

That's odd. I don't think I've ever known anyone in this country who didn't own guns. I own about 20 and I'm a lightweight.

You'd be surprised to know that the Philippines has some of the best gun copiers/forgers in the world. People who live totally in the bush, in the middle of nowhere have reverse engineered and copied full auto AK-47's there to the point that you couldn't tell the difference between the one made in the Philippine jungle and one made in China. Yes, really.

Chainsaws work better on zombies.

Worse yet are the folks who think they know something about guns based on how Hollywood portrays them. If you've never shot a real gun before, rest assured, watching cartoon characters talk is more realistic than what you see done with guns in the movies.

Last night I went to rent a movie at Blockbuster (carrying concealed, of course). Probably one out of every four DVD covers had a photo of someone posing with a gun, ALWAYS with their finger on the trigger or with the gun pointed in an unsafe direction. I have never seen this in the real world ever. I live walking distance from a huge range and used to live walking distance from the NRA range in Virginia. Rest assured, if anyone ever saw you walking around with your finger on the trigger, you'd be kicked out and banned by that range. Dirty Harry shooting a .44 magnum indoors and not having his eardrums blown out? Right! Watching Wiley Coyote waiting for the Acme delivery truck is more realistic.
