Hong Kong. It's like a futuristic version of NYC's skyline, but with LA's backdrop, how the heck can you beat that? After Hong Kong, I'd say Tokyo and Shanghi tie.
Great way to describe Hong Kong. I love NYC. But Hong Kong is my favorite skyline in the world and with a skyline like that with a backdrop like LA or even Rio, it's hard to beat that.
Hong Kong is incredible, but I bet that if you looked at it in the day it would be a lot less impressive. I voted for New York because the combination of incredible architecture (Empire State, Chrysler, Citigroup, Trump World, Time Warner, Conde Nast, NY Times, Bank of America, Bloomberg, 40 Wall Street, American International, GE, Woolworth, Bertelsmann, Times Square, Random House, Sony, 570 Lexington, Central Park Place, New York Life, etc, etc, etc), amazing density, a huge number of towers that are very tall, many distinct "downtowns" (midtown manhattan, lower manhattan, brooklyn, jersey city, long island city), history, and importance as a city (indisputuably the most important city in the world). Hong Kong has a few really impressive architectural buildings, but not as many as New York. Hong Kong has density and height, but it has nothing on New York in terms of history, importance, and multiple downtowns.

New York all day, baby!!!!!!!!!!!!! But then again, maybe I'm a little biased.
Is anybody else anoyyed about how only Asia is getting the development now. I mean, China practically owns the U.S, and you can't forget about Japan.
Hopefully, after the recession, some of our leaders can start to get it right. The U.S won't go anywhere importing everything. The industry can boost commercial demand! Unfortunatley, the U.S has almost completely forgotten about manufacturing.
Get it together, and start bringing demand back to the USA, please. I really want to see some new skyscrapers popping up in Atlanta. And not 450 foot ones, but real 650-700+ foot skyscrapers. Bring the US back to the glory that it used to have.
What new projects in Chicago will surpass the WTC or Westside developments in NY? Not to mention the Kowloon development which is just finishing up in Hong Kong?
what experts place chicago over new york? Chicagoens plz stop saying that. Just because one or two sites state this, doesnt repel the fact that nyc is seen as Americas number one skyline of skylines
As far as hong kong goes-
1.The density of Midtown is unmatched
2. Nyc is a cluster of classic world known scrapers
3. What buildings does hong kong have that are classics, what do they have that resonates with the world? Its all just collection of glitz and lights. I think they even use their buildings to conduct light shows everynight, or something like that.
4. NYCS architecture absolutely blows hong kongs out of this dimension
5. And finally what buildings do they have better than the CHRYSLER, that goes for chicago aswell
