I am applying to do a fulbright teaching assistantship. I taught English in Guatemala and ever since I have wanted to get a TEFL certification because I know things would have been much easier for me. And now with the Fulbright, they want to see people that have qualifications. I've looked onlinee (whoa...tons of TEFL providers). Ofocurse I looked at Oxford and that CELTA place...but their courses are $1,000+. Thus, the online option seems appealing. But I've heard good and bad. I obviously want to go through a reputable organization and want to start now! (during the summer before senior year of college kicks my butt). Does anyone know of any cheaper in-person course providers in the U.S or good online ones. Thanks!

Check out the TESOL website for more information (TESOL - Home Page) as TESOL is the larger organization in the USA that represents EFL/EFL teachers and probably has information on which organizations offer the best courses.
