Canadian men would only wear shorts as extremely casual leisure wear.
You will see police officers on bicycle patrol in Canadian cities in the summer wearing shorts, but that's about it.

Shorts in an office work environment are quite rare in Canada even in summer, although evenings and weekends in the summer close to a majority of Canadian men you see out and about will be wearing some type of shorts.

News flash: I look like my brother.

News flash: From around the 1500s to the 1800s, the English/British became masters of global navigation and industrialization, they conquered a good chunk of the otherwise stone age/agricultural world, including two virtually virgin continents (with all due respect), North America and Australia, and the Canadians, Americans (US) and Australians are virtually their children to a significant extent genetically and certainly culturally.

News flash: the sun sets in the west, warm water is pleasant, wheels go round, and bread slices if you cut it.

Do they still teach real history in school nowadays, or just unicorns and candy canes?

Just askin' ...

Arrow whoa, things are changing .....

Sydney is now an "Alpha+" world city, Toronto Simply "Alpha".
Sydney, HK, Dubai, Tokyo, are "Alpha+" because they "fill advanced services niches."
At least so it is written. Funny, because Toronto has a metro GDP over 3 times that of Sydney,
and is counted (according to some lists) as among the 10 most economically powerful cities in the world,
and the TSX is considered more a major stock exchange than that of Sydney. Correct me if I'm wrong.
