Well thats no surprise as blacks tend to be poorer and if you are poorer the trend is to have more children. Brasil anyway has never had an black president.

UK - Is more similar to their other European countries like Denmark than Canada and the rest of those countries
Israel - Is very much Middle Eastern, their governtment is corrupt, militaristic, and limits the rights of certain groups of people like other countries in the area...
Hong Kong - Is different than mainland china, but I think Macau is more unique than Hong Kong.
Singapore - Is only really a city and is as developed as Kula Lumpar.
Phillipines - Is very unique its predominantly Catholic and a majority of the citizens have Spanish last names opposed to ethnic Filipino names.
Indonesia- The other countries are out of place considered its 200 + million population completely out numbers those other countries... PNG, East Timor, etc...
North Africa - is different than sub-Saharan Africa... the change is gradually those countries have ethnic relations with the neighbors, which gradually fades out as you continue south
Mauritius- This island nation was on the route between Africa, Middle East, and India so their make up is not really that unique
South Africa - Other Southern African countries like SA, Namibia, Zimbabwe, etc... have similar history
Brazil - More than half of the population of South America lives in Brazil, making Portuguese the most common language on the continent and making the non- Portuguese people more "unique"
Quebec - Aside from Quebecions speaking French there are very similar to the rest of Canada...

Israel: In both politics and religion from their Middle Eastern counterparts.

Hong Kong: Well its has a different lifestyle than Mainland China. Plus they use Traditional writing instead of Simplified like Mainland China does plus they have their own currency. Yes I know they were once a British Colony

Singapore: As one poster said it is a developed country surrounded by developing countries plus it is more culturally diverse than the other East Asian Countries

Phillipness: One of the few predominantly Christian countries in Asia

Indonesia: Country with the highest population of Muslims (the nation's population is 230 million) sandwiched between Austrailia and Maylasia Muslims are slight majority there but has a primarly Christian neighbors Papua New Guinea and East Timor.

Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt: The differences between these nations and the rest of Africa is when people hear Africa they imagine Black people, safari, and starvation not pyramids and Arabs.

Mauritius: My boyfriend is from there its of the coast from Madagascar the majority racial background is Indian the religious makeup is very diverse Hindus about half the population but quite a number of Christians and Muslims and the main language is Mauritius Creole, their culture is a mix of Indian and Creole and has the best quality of life in Africa (I am not saying its at European standards) which adds more cultural differences compared to the most of Africa.

South Africa: Even though blacks are a majority their is more different races than most African nations, Apartheid enough said, and the most self-explanatory country name ever.

Brazil is very different but my reasons as to why would be parroting other posts.

Quebec is different from the rest of Canada so much they want to separate.

I would also add its neighbor, the Dominican Republic, as a country that is out-of-place, since its the only country with a mulatto majority, one of the few countries in the world with that reality. The fact that it borders Haiti, a country with a majority of people of pure African stock, makes the mixture of most Dominicans quite obvious to the casual observer since most Dominicans don't look like most Haitians. The difference in development levels between the two countries is also interesting.
I agree people were too quick to focus on the racial element of Haiti. Haiti is more life Africa then North America because of all the reasons you stated.

Costa Rica is very different from its neighbors a wealthy nation that is environmentally sustainable and politically stable where the majority of the people are of European (Spanish) stock in the middle of central America.

It was seen as different than much of Central America because it had a more stable and democratic government than the rest of those nations. Also it has no military.

It's not "wealthy", but I think it's among the higher-end of Latin American nations.

Dubai in the middle east!

Dubai and the United Arab Emirates is a relatively heavily Westernized and socially/politically moderate place that is surrounded by very anti-Western and socially/politically conservative places such as Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Afghanistan not far away.

Dubai/United Arab Emirates is also in a relatively safe and peaceful place surrounded by countries and regions that have a lot of conflict and tension such as Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and even Somalia not that far away. Also, Israel not that far away from there

Dubai is literally 200 miles south from a part of Iran with only some body of water separating them! That probably means Dubai is like 30 minutes away by airplane from that area of Iran, and probably 2 hours away by airplane from the southern area of Iraq!
I wonder how Dubai and United Arab Emirates became the way it is when they are surrounded around places like that.

Also, Dubai has a lot of modern avant garde skyscrapers being built(Mostly from people that are architects in Europe it seems) recently and a lot of recent modern infrastructure.

Before Dubai gets any avant garde skyscrapers, the USA, Canada, and Europe should have more.

Im also very worried about Dubais future since its so close by to Iran, Saudia Arabia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, and Pakistan. Dubai is COMPLETELY surrounded by countries with tension and countries that are more conservative and less economically successful than the Dubai area.
